Bodily fluids and their associations in Witchcraft
This post may be NSFW for some, because I do make reference to sexual fluids. This is a quick post about the most common bodily fluids used in witchcraft, and what their associations are for usages in magick.
TW: Blood, body fluids (obviously), sexual assault mentions***************
***************PSA!
Any fluid that comes out of your body is potentially biologically hazardous, even if you do not think you are infected with a disease or other medical condition. Bodily fluids are the perfect environment for germs to live in, and even if you are healthy they can become infected afterwards and breed microbes. Please be careful when dealing with potentially biological hazards, and dispose of them properly after usage.
Additionally, if you cause anyone to consume these fluids without their knowledge or consent, you are committing a crime. Depending on the fluids and the manner of ingestion involved, it could be anything from civil assault to criminal sexual assault. Please do not do anything illegal or anything that could harm someone else, including mentally!

*****************Blood
Associations:
Life, magick, energy, strength, power, amplification of spells, tying a spell to someone irrevocably, cursing.Notes:
Blood magick is extremely risky; blood spells are VERY powerful and can be extremely hard or impossible to break. They are also dangerous, and can backfire easily. Most, if not all, blood spells are considered black magick by default. Blood is one of the best possible taglocks for curses.
Breastmilk
Associations:
Maternal or parental love, growth, femininity, nurturing, feeding and nourishing, replenishing, cleansing, the Divine Feminine, children and childbirthNotes:
This is quite commonly used in spells related to the Divine Feminine and other Goddess-centric practices. It has traditional usages in most reconstructionist religions, especially Paganácht, Ásatrú and Kemeticism.
Menstrual Fluid
Associations:
Romantic or sexual love, reproductive power, feminine fertility, growth, health, stamina, the Divine Feminine, femininity generallyNotes:
Menstrual fluid is not blood, although it does contain a small amount of blood. It is actually the uterine lining called the endometrium that is shed approximately every 28 days. It is a very traditional component of hoodoo and vodou, but has been used by almost every culture in history.
Saliva
Associations:
Dissolution, consumption, desire in the physical sense, breaking apart or separating, laxness, sloth or idleness.Notes:
Saliva has traditionally been used as a fluid for the creation of potions involved in breaking up things – anything from a relationship to a bad contract. It is also highly related to magick related to appetite or literal eating, for obvious reasons.
Semen
Associations:
Sexual love or potency, sexual attractiveness, masculine fertility, stamina, strength, endurance, energy, control over men (through using the semen as a powerful taglock), masculinity generally
Notes:
Semen and menstrual fluid are the two primary ingredients in the most powerful kinds of love spells. Semen is also an excellent taglock, better even than blood if you can get hold of it. It is made extensive use of in hoodoo love spells.
Sweat
Associations:
Effort, exertion, stress, construction, building up of things, hard workNotes:
This is very much the counter to saliva, and is used for everything that saliva would break apart. If you want a contract to go well or for your efforts to be realised on a project, spells involving anointing with your own sweat are ideal.
Tears
Associations:
Emotion, power, pain, renewal, desire, needNotes:
Tears are the product of intense emotion, and are therefore perfect for any spell that involves emotionality or mental exertion.
Urine
Associations:
Cleansing, washing away, purification, luck, health, happiness and vitality, sexual magnetism (not necessarily love)
Notes:
At the end of the day, most fluids have at some point been used for a love spell or three (except possibly snot). Urine is often used in luck spells, or in spells related to the cleansing of jinxes or hexes. It is said that urinating into the ocean is a good way to cleanse yourself of negative magick.
Please do not use urine as some kind of medicine. There’s a crazy fad online about drinking pee to cure all ills – it doesn’t work, there’s a good biological reason why we get RID of urine. Go to the doctor instead.Vaginal mucous
Associations:
Love, sex and sexual magnetism, pleasure, power and control, health and good fortune, the Divine FeminineNotes:
Collected after masturbating to orgasm, vaginal fluids are often used in love spells as an excellent substitute for menstrual fluids for those who cannot obtain said fluids. It has also been used in the past as an ingredient in the production of potions to benefit reproductive health, and not just of people with vaginas!

As stated before, though,
please for the love of all that is sacred to your gods, make sure you remember that these are potentially hazardous biological components. Be aware that biological fluids are literally the number one infectious agent involved in spreading most diseases, so treat them with care! Never store bodily fluids for longer than is absolutely necessary, and please don’t make other people consume them without their knowledge or permission. Depending on what fluids you use, that may be considered sexual assault!
